In September 2024, FSN-IL collaborated with the the Ministry of Agriculture in Malawi, the Malawi National Planning Commission (NPC), the MwAPATA Institute, and others to co-host the 2024 Malawi Productivity and Agricultural Commercialization Conference (MAPCC). The theme for this year’s conference was “Transforming Agrifood Systems to Generate Wealth for All.”
Over the course of the event, seven thematic sessions focused on pathways to sustainable agrifood systems transformation, climate action for efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agrifood systems, policy and regulatory environments, financing, trade, and women and youth and their critical roles in agrifood systems transformation. Although unable to attend in-person, Shibani Ghosh, Director of FSN-IL, presented opening remarks via a pre-recorded video that commented on the Lab’s work in Malawi, as well as aspirations for the conference.
